Maybe cast as the bad guys that prevented the magical Hungarians winning the World Cup but this was also a great team. Captain (and former POW) Fritz Walter is one of the game's greatest players, Rahn, Morlock and Schafer were also world class players. Their win in their first post-war World Cup was a key point in rebuilding the national image of Germany after the war.Helped by a pair of revolutionary Adidas boots and a rainy day in Berne, this was nonetheless a team that deserved their moment.
