Ajax 1995-96

Ajax, 1995 European Cup Final

Picture
Ajax 1995
Coach: Louis van Gaal
Achievements: European Cup 1995; Finalists 1996
Key Players: Seedorf, Davids, R. de Boer, F. de Boer, Overmars, Kluivert, Rijkaard
Formation: 3-1-3-3

The second successful generation for the great Ajax club was an exciting team of young talent coached by Van Gaal in the traditional Ajax 3-1-3-3 system, and led by the veteran Rijkaard. They would win the 1995 European Cup Final, beating a great but ageing AC Milan side, and reach the Final again the following year, this time themselves giving way to an emerging Juventus side. Within a few years of these finals these players would dispersed around Europe's top clubs.
