Argentina 1978

Picture
Argentina, 1978 World Cup Final

Coach: Cesar Luis Menotti
Achievements: World Cup 1978
Key Players: Kempes, Ardiles, Fillol, Passarella, Gallego, Tarantini
Star Player: Kempes
Formation: 4-2-4

For one of the game's major powers Argentina have produced many great players but have not had the success they probably deserve as a team. They have won the World Cup twice. In 1986 it was all about Maradona but in 1978 the impressive Menotti fielded a great team that played stylish attacking football. Kempes was the star but the talent ran deeper in this hardworking and talented team.
