Brazil 1958-62

Brazil 1958 World Cup Final

Coach: Feola / Moreira
Achievements: World Cup 1958, 1962
Key Players: Pele, Garrincha, Didi, Vava, Zagallo, Zito, N. Santos, D. Santos, Gilmar
Star Player: Pele, Garrincha
Formation: 4-2-4

This could be the best side of all time. With better players position-by-position than the more fondly rembered 1970 Brazil team. This team won two back-to-back World Cups - in South America and Europe. They had a world class player in almost every position (except only central defence) and is the only team to have included two alltime legends (Pele and Garrincha, who would be the star players of two consecutive world cups).

The team was also tactical revolutionaries twice over: with a new 4-2-4 formation in 1958 they then switched to a 4-3-3 in 1962, with Zagallo dropping back they won the World Cup without Pele. Most of all they were a joy to watch.
